Galle Green City - Make green city
Green OrganizationGalle is a non profitable organization which aims  to make the city of Galle a carbon free city for business enterprises. This concept has been improved and updated by the present Mayor Mr.Methsiri De Silva who  visited  CITYNET Yokohama Congress Sept. 7–11  2009 represening  Galle city to discuss  topics such as climate change and global warming, environmental urban safety etc . He is the Patron of the organization.We have been protected our environments through the help local and international Non government Organizations,public schools, private sector and public communities. We associate ourselves with a number of organization to work,fundraising,share,donations, and exchange comments  to develop our goal.

COWAM PROJECT
COWAM Centre is situated at Walauwatta, Dadalla, Galle. More than four years ago the COWAM project started. COWAM (Construction Waste Management in Sri Lanka) is a project within the framework of the EU ASIA PRO ECO II B Post-Tsunami Programme. Furthermore COWAM project is the first Construction Waste Management project in South Asia. While COWAM Centre is servicing to people who are living in city of Galle by collecting construction and demolition waste, road construction materials are supplied to Galle Municipal Council under the lower rates. In addition, the centre provides training and consultancy services on Construction Waste Management. <More>

Wildlife Conservation Society
A society under the name of Wildlife Conservation Society of Galle was established in 1993 in collaboration with the Maritime Museum of Galle. The society is registered in the Central Environmental Authority under the reg. no.6/6/17/30.
The objectives of the society are to create an interest for wildlife in Sri Lanka among the school children and the general public and work with dedication towards the conservation of the wildlife in the country.
